# AI3D API v2 model: anigen-weight-transfer

Transfer AniGen's skinned biped weights onto another mesh while keeping that mesh's geometry and materials.

## Source

Every source GLB, including the AniGen rig, must embed its buffers and images. External file paths and URLs inside the GLB are rejected before Blender runs.

Submit one completed mesh job from your own v2 account as `source_job_id`, or a public HTTPS binary GLB as `model_url` (up to 100 MiB). Public URLs are fetched by AI3D with address pinning and redirect checks. A source job must contain an archived GLB mesh artifact. Other formats are not accepted by this operation.

The AniGen rig must come from a completed `anigen` job owned by the same account. The operation selects its weighted preview mesh and ignores the separate skeleton-visualization output.

For a public GLB, replace `source_job_id` with `model_url`. Do not provide both. `input.anigen_job_id` is required in either case. Both jobs must belong to the caller's account and be successful v2 jobs.

AI3D transfers the AniGen vertex-group weights to the target surface using Blender's polygon-interpolated nearest-surface mapping, then binds the preserved mesh to the AniGen armature. This makes the target mesh deform with AniGen's biped skeleton. Results depend on the target's shape and pose being reasonably aligned with the AniGen reference mesh; large pose or proportion differences can produce poor weights.

## Lifecycle

The request returns `202 Accepted` with a normal job ID. Poll `GET /v2/jobs/{id}` until it succeeds or fails. Download the result from its authenticated `artifacts[].download_url`. The operation uses AI3D's local Blender runtime and does not submit a job to AniGen, Tripo, or another generation provider.
