# AI3D API v2 model: tripo-auto-rig Detect the source model's rig type, apply the matching Tripo rig, and optionally retarget the default animations for that rig. - AI3D model ID: `tripo-auto-rig` (Tripo `animations/rig`, optionally followed by `animations/retarget`) - Provider: `tripo` - Availability: follows `TRIPO_OPERATIONS_MODE`; shown in `GET /v2/models` when enabled. - Provider references: , , Use the convenience route to detect the rig type automatically: ```http POST https://api.ai3d.dev/v2/auto-rig Authorization: Bearer Content-Type: application/json Idempotency-Key: ``` Provide exactly one of your own completed native Tripo generation `source_job_id` or a public HTTPS GLB `model_url` (up to 150 MB). Detection requires GLB for URL inputs. A source job must be a completed v2 native Tripo generation job and belong to the caller's account. ```json { "source_job_id": "3f6c0e2e-6a3f-4f1e-9d0c-1b2a3c4d5e6f", "spec": "tripo", "out_format": "glb", "include_default_animations": true } ``` Optional fields: - `spec`: `tripo` or `mixamo` (default `tripo`). - `out_format`: `glb` or `fbx` (default `glb`). - `include_default_animations`: boolean (default `false`). When true, the detected rig's documented default set is retargeted after rigging: - biped: `preset:biped:idle`, `preset:biped:walk`, `preset:biped:run`, `preset:biped:jump`, `preset:biped:shoot`. - quadruped: `preset:quadruped:walk`. - hexapod: `preset:hexapod:walk`. - octopod: `preset:octopod:walk`. - serpentine: `preset:serpentine:march`. - aquatic: `preset:aquatic:march`. - avian: Tripo documents no default retarget preset; requesting defaults for an avian rig returns 422. Omit the option to apply the rig without animation. - `include_fps_animations`: boolean (default `false`), retained as a biped-only alias for the five-clip first-person shooter pack. Do not combine it with `include_default_animations`. The route returns `202 Accepted` with a normal job ID, `detected_rig_type`, `rig_model`, `animation_set`, and the selected `animations`. Poll `GET /v2/jobs/{job_id}` until the job is terminal. When animations are requested, they are applied after rigging as part of the same job and included in the final model artifact. The endpoint selects Tripo rig model `v1.0-20240301` for bipeds and `v2.5-20260210` for non-biped types. Tripo currently exposes no frames-per-second input for auto-rig or retarget; “FPS” refers to the first-person shooter animation pack. Reserve: 30 credits ($0.30) for rigging alone. Each retargeted animation adds 10 credits, so a one-clip creature default reserves 40 credits ($0.40) and the five-animation biped pack reserves 80 credits ($0.80). AI3D settles the combined job against Tripo's reported rig and retarget usage, capped at the reservation; Tripo credits are priced at $0.01 each. A provider failure releases the reservation unless Tripo reported usage for a completed workflow stage. The route uses the customer's wallet. It is separate from the operator-only `POST /v2/tripo/animations/rig` passthrough and does not require a provider key in the client. For manual control, use `tripo-rig` and `tripo-retarget` with separate `POST /v2/jobs` calls.
