# AI3D API v2 model: tripo-image-to-splat

Generate a PLY Gaussian splat from one image with Tripo's native API.

## Request

Use the normal AI3D v2 job API. Do not call Tripo directly or include provider credentials in the client.

`image_url` must be a publicly reachable HTTPS image. For a local image, upload PNG, JPEG, or WebP (up to 10 MiB) with `POST /v2/uploads` and use the returned signed URL. This endpoint accepts one image and no model-specific `input` settings.

## Job lifecycle

Submit to `POST /v2/jobs` with an AI3D bearer key that has write permission and this model in its allowlist. Use an `Idempotency-Key` when retrying a timed-out create request. Poll `GET /v2/jobs/{job_id}` until `succeeded`, `failed`, or `submission_unknown`. On success, inspect `artifacts` and download the archived PLY through its authenticated `download_url`.

The job uses the customer's prepaid AI3D balance. AI3D reserves 30 Tripo credits before dispatch and settles the final charge from Tripo's reported `credits_consumed` value. Failed Tripo jobs are not charged.

Tripo's image-to-splat endpoint returns a Gaussian splat, not a mesh. The result is a PLY artifact intended for Gaussian-splat viewers.
