Rigging and animation

Riggability check is a free customer utility listed with tripo-rig when that model is enabled. Direct Tripo gateway tools remain operator-only. Wallet-billed tripo-texture, tripo-convert, tripo-retopology, tripo-rig, tripo-retarget, tripo-segment, and Smart Segmentation jobs use POST /v2/jobs and appear in GET /v2/models once enabled.

Free customer utilityAssociated with tripo-rig
Customer utility: POST /v2/rig-checkOperator gateway route: POST /v2/tripo/animations/rig-check

Checks whether a model can be rigged and recommends a rig type. Send exactly one source_job_id for your own completed Tripo generation job, or a public HTTPS model_url pointing to a GLB file up to 150 MB.

Optional: the free check can prefill the rig settings; tripo-rig can also be run directly, and a job that fails at Tripo is not charged.

Auto rig

Tripo operation
Customer job: POST /v2/jobs {model: tripo-rig, source_job_id: ...}Operator gateway route: POST /v2/tripo/animations/rig

Adds a skeleton; accepts GLB, GLTF, FBX, OBJ, or STL up to 150 MB. Outputs GLB or FBX.

Direct Tripo gateway operations require an operator-issued key. The free customer riggability utility is separate and follows tripo-rig catalog availability. Once Tripo operations are enabled, you can run rig and retarget against your balance and create mesh segmentation or Smart Segmentation jobs with POST /v2/jobs; see the model guides below.
